Certification Courses Semester 2010 at V.G.A. and Centre for Ecological Apiculture

Traineeship and the certificate Courses I-III in beekeeping considering the character of bees has as main goals to give its applicants more knowledge on how to keep the bees in a way that is suitable for the bees. The applicants will learn how to manage an apiary accordingly, how to treat the hive products carefully, how to become an apiary of the Centre for ecological Apiculture.
 
 

General structure of Virtual Global Academy Course Program by example of courses in Apiculture

The Virtual Global Academy Course Program consists of more than 100 Courses (Distance courses and practical courses), although not all courses are availlable now. Each lesson of one course is sent to the students via normal e-mail-attachment in PDF-Format. After each course there is a period of free discussions, questions and comments (maximum time 3-4 weeks).

Certificate distance courses I-III as well as practical certificate courses will lead to final examination (all included in #62). 

The first final examination, by which time all applicants should have a complete understanding of all the lessons, will consist in a series of short questions, sent to each applicant by e mail. The applicants are required to send the answers back to T+T Consult Training Team within 24 hours after receipt of the questions. Applicants who score at least 70% correct answers will be awarded "First Certificate" in beekeeping considering the character of bees. 

The same apply to "Proficiency Certificate" in beekeeping considering the character of bees. This certificate also makes applicants eligible to become a certifier of T+T Consult Certification System or become a certified member of the centre for ecological apiculture (in connection with certificate III). 

Commercial beekeepers who need also trade certificates are requested to join the commercial beekeeping certification distance course  or practical course. Final Examination: Certificate III.

All certificate courses are now included in a two semester Traineeship (#62)

Technical (computer) requirements

Most computer systems and software are sufficiently powerful to provide an excellent transfer of information between the students and theirs lectors. The minimal configuration is usually the following one: Computers: IBM (minimum Pentium I) or Macintosh. Software: Internet browser.
 
 

Registration for Certificate Courses

Except practical one-day-information-course (N°37) and organic / ecological beekeeping for beginners (N° 19), Registration for above listed courses requires that you submit the following documents / ausgenommen den Schnupperkurs, sind fuer die oben aufgelisteten Kurse folgende Unterlagen einzureichen:

a) Registration form
b) Short curriculum vitae (with Photo) 
c) Statement of professional knowledge and experience. Tell us about your professional background, the reason why you plan to attend the course, and what you already know in and around the topic of the course. 
Registration and admission is processed in three steps: 
1. Sign the printed registration form. Send the form with your signature and the above mentioned documents as well as a copy of the bank payment document of registration fee + course fee to the adress specified in the form. 

2. If we have received all necessary documents, your registration will be confirmed.

3. Upon admission you will receive the units via e-mail attachment in PDF-Format (only distance course); or you receive the date
of the beginning of  practical course/Traineeship.
 

Requirements for Certificate Courses

There are no formal requirements as to a university degree or similar. However you should be aware that the course level will be one of higher education. Likewise sufficient English is a precondition even though you will not be asked to provide formal proof. Some courses might presuppose that you possess basic knowledge in natural science (e.g. beekeeping). Regarding practical courses, a master degree in agriculture or beekeeping will be appreciated but is not necessarily a precondition.
